WELCOME TO TOP TWO WAY RADIO
UHF vs VHF frequencies
If you are only using your radios outdoors (ranching, farming, etc.) then VHF will give you a little more distance.
However, if you currently own radios and want to keep using them with your new radios, then you must buy the same frequency that you currently own. UHF radios cannot talk with VHF radios.
2-Way RadioIP RATINGS EXPLAINED
IP54 -rated for partial protection against dust and water splashes for a minimum of 10 minutes with an oscillating spray. See our RDR2500 radio. IP65 -rated as “dust tight” and protected against water projected from a nozzle or rain. See our RDR2380 radio series IP67 – rated as “dust tight” and protected against immersion for 30 minutes at depths 150mm – 1000mm. See our RDR4380 radio series, The IP Code consists of two letters (IP) and two numbers. IP ratings indicate specific levels of sealing effectiveness from dirt, dust, and moisture, and were developed to create a definable standard beyond vague words as “waterproof”. For example, the first number indicates how much protection the enclosed electronic equipment has from foreign bodies as dust, dirt, and debris; the second number indicates how much protection the radio’s enclosed electronic parts have from various forms of moisture as drips, sprays, and full submersion. Discount Two-Way Radio offers many different IP rated radios, but our most popular IP rated radios have an IP54 rating, a IP65 rating, and a IP67 rating. But what exactly do these numbers mean? Below is a quick reference that explains these numbers in simple terms:WHAT IS ENCRYPTION?
Walkie Talkie
Encryption scrambles the voice signal so that only your radios can hear each other. This prevents other people from listening in on your conversations. Radios that offer encryption are usually more expensive so this only important if you are transmitting sensitive information.
